A world-class paragliding site where pilots launch from Billing (approx. 2,400 m) and land in the Tibetan village of Bir.
Bir Billing hosted the Paragliding World Cup in 2015 and is considered one of the best paragliding sites in the world. Tandem flights take off from the Billing meadow and glide for 15–30 minutes over pine forests and tea gardens to the landing site at Bir.
Beyond flying, Bir has a relaxed Tibetan colony with monasteries such as Sherab Ling and Chokling, cafés and short hikes. It makes an excellent day trip or overnight stop from Dharamshala.
