Rolling green tea estates around Dharamshala and Palampur, producing the delicate Kangra tea against a backdrop of snowy peaks.
Tea has been grown in the Kangra Valley since the mid-19th century, and Kangra tea received a Geographical Indication tag for its distinctive flavour. Estates around Dharamshala, Mann and Palampur produce both green and black teas.
A walk through the neat rows of tea bushes with the Dhauladhar range behind is one of the most photogenic experiences in the valley. Some estates offer short factory visits and tastings during the plucking season.
