A shallow, freshwater glacial lake at around 2,934 m, reached by a beautiful trek along the Nyund stream from Kareri village.
Kareri (Kumarwah) Lake is fed by snowmelt from the Minkiani Pass in the Dhauladhar range. The trek from Kareri village follows the Nyund stream through forest, meadows and Gaddi shepherd settlements, and is usually done over two to three days.
A small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti stands on a hill beside the lake. The lake is usually frozen from December to March.
